Bainbridge City Manager Wants to Get Rolling on Zoning for Local Pot Ops.

After Washington State’s passage last November of Initiative 502, which legalized the sale of small amounts of marijuana in defiance of federal law, which dictates that possession of cannabis can lead to prosecution, everyone inhaled and waited to see what the federal government would do. But now that it appears it will do nothing, Bainbridge City Manager Doug Schulze says the City must take action. In his most recent City Manager’s Report, Schulze wrote, “We need to make decisions very soon about where and what marijuana businesses can and will be accommodated within Bainbridge Island borders.”
